BY PAUL SMITH
Mingled Plaid is the
new collaboration of
Maharam and Paul
Smith—a relationship that
has turned into a true love
affair between the company
and British fashion designer.
The 100-percent wool offering is
a reinterpretation of the traditional
features of a plaid. Each of the five
color options contains a neutral ground
accented by bright intersecting stripes.
Mingled Plaid will hit the market next month.
Layers was created by famed product designer
Hella Jongerius and is considered a classic
from the textile giant. The line consists of
three embroidered patterns: Layers Garden,
Layers Vineyard, and Layers Park, featured
here. A wool felt serves as the base for intricate
needlework, and all are available in either single
or double layer variations. This textile has been
accepted into the permanent collection of the
Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
