SPOT BENCHES BY ARCADIA
WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
I was born in Los Angeles. Being from SoCal suits me.
I’m pretty laidback and always on the go. But I’m totally
adaptable to any environment where seating and creativity are needed.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST BIG BREAK?
I debuted at this year’s NeoCon to great fanfare. I
was an immediate draw to designers because of
my geometric shape and versatility—I was a big hit!
WHAT’S THE RUMOR MILL CHURNING OUT ABOUT YOU
The word on the street has been very kind. People
say I accommodate lounge and collaborative
seating as well as most work surfaces because
I can nest underneath them—even with my
optional tablet! They also say I lend a helping
hand by hanging on to personal items.
WHERE WAS THE LAST PLACE THE PAPARAZZI
I couldn’t escape the spotlight in Chicago
at NeoCon. People constantly stopped to
sit and pose with me, and who can blame
them? The show is a killer on the feet!
ASIDE FROM SUGAR, SPICE, AND EVERYTHING
NICE, WHAT ELSE ARE YOU MADE OF?
I’m available in wood veneers or several laminates and finished with upholstery fabric.
My optional tablet is also available in veneer,
laminate, or Corian in eight standard colors.
IF YOU COULD GET ONE PLASTIC SURGERY PROCEDURE
WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I’m blessed with eternally youthful characteristics thanks to
my carefree nature. It doesn’t hurt that I get to move around
a lot—going from meeting to meeting, being grabbed to
join spur-of-the moment conversations, parading around for
group discussions. It helps keep me in shape.
WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR IDOLS AND INFLUENCERS?
I can’t say enough about designer David Dahl, who
inspired me to be a free spirit. Maybe that’s why I run
with so many different groups. I’m a fan of laidback
creativity and spontaneity.
WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST TURN-ON AND TURN-OFF?
Respectively, impromptu meetings and static environments!
WHO’S YOUR CURRENT BESTIE?
It is too hard to pick just one BFF, because my mood
changes. I play hide-and-seek around the office. When
I want to keep it low-key, I head to the nearest hang-out
spot with the Infinium Collection or other lounge products
and wait for the next big idea to pop up.
WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK WITH NEXT?
I’d love to land a job at a start-up tech company,
contemporary office, or university campus—anywhere
there’s a flurry of activity.
