“I was like, ‘Bring them to Calhoun! We’ll show them how to make carpet!’”
Jones recalls, and soon the group took a trip to Mannington to do just that. “These
boys got so much out of being able to design their own samples and be a part of
the process of making carpet, so that was the genesis of the idea—this is a great
way to engage the kids in the design of the school.”
The cafeteria features a painstaking custom-designed
pattern made up of 78,000 hand-laid pieces of LVT.
