This collection offers handmade tile inspired by
traditional methods of the arts and craft movement,
with multiple layers of hand-brushed glaze.
Reclaimed wood is a continued feature throughout the
space. In this case, the wood didn't require refinishing
and was used essentially as is, with a clear-coat finish.
This simple material adds a lot to the bar's theme,
which incorporates a dramatic hull-shaped ceiling
as a nod to Hog Island's first boat, Spatz.
This local reclaimed wood was selected for the fact
that it was submerged in nearby rivers and harvested
similar to the way oysters are gathered by Hog Island
in Tomales Bay.
Local furniture maker Lawrence Gandsey used
cypress from nearby Point Reyes for the tabletops,
while Eclipse fabricated the bases and also provided
other metalwork on the project.
