In the back
of the showroom
the current products
make up a patchwork
grid, once again
highlighting the way
in which the space
is designed to
complement the designer’s preferred sourcing experience.
Each square of product is attached to a magnet backing and
stuck to the magnetic wall, making it easy for designers to
pull the desired product down to compare against each other.
The heart of Maya Romanoff resides 25 minutes north of
downtown Chicago in the quiet suburb of Skokie, IL. There, a studio of artisans paint,
pull, and place each detail by hand while Top 40 plays overhead. The first thing I notice
upon entering: I feel like I’m back in a college art lab, not a luxury brand studio. For more
information on the space and the wonderful artisans who handcraft the majority of Maya
Romanoff products, check out our blog at interiorsandsources.com.
