1. Ensuring superior performance, Thrive™ is 100
percent solution-dyed nylon 6. 6 with permanent
built-in stain resistance. This extends product
life and new carpet appearance.
2. Thrive boasts the lightest carbon footprint
of any carpet fiber in the world, and delivers
the lowest product/CO2 ratio, 1: 4. This
represents 40-80 percent less CO2 than
3. Thrive consists of 75 percent recycled content,
and uses pre- and post-consumer material
sourced from various supply streams including
recycled carpet diverted from landfills.
4. Thrive is 100 percent
recyclable and therefore
may be up- or down-cycled
in support of any sustainable
requirements. Since scientific
studies have estimated the
timeline for carpet biodegradation in landfills
to be 20,000 years, recyclability and landfill
divergence is of paramount importance.
5. Thrive is offered in Universal Color®, an industry
leading color bank of 284 solution-dyed hues
scientifically developed as a palette from which
any color may be created in color space.
Therefore, any color requirement can be matched
by Universal FibersSM.
6. Zero water is used in solution-dyed fiber with zero dye effluent
waste. Traditional “wet dye
processes” require 20,000+
gallons of water per 1800 yards
of carpet. The water must first be
heated via natural gas (CO2 emissions). Once
dyed the carpet must then be dried via natural
gas or electric. Finally, any remaining “dye effluent”
in the dye beck must be removed and safely disposed
(often containing hazardous heavy metals).
7. Each production is individually
approved for color accuracy by
experienced master craftsmen
who ensure the color has been
properly produced because some
things aren’t better left to machines.
8. As the first to offer solution-dye technology in a
broad color offering, Universal Fibers continues to
use this coloration
method for all of
its products to
color fastness and
This waterless dye
process adds color
during the liquid
moultant sage of
production. Once extruded and cooled into fiber,
the color is encapsulated throughout the filament
as opposed to being topically applied. Therefore
the fiber will stay as bright and vibrant as the day
they it was produced—even when exposed to UV
and harsh cleaning methods.
